article # 3

http://www.empoweredparents.com/mini/t12.htm#anchor46

if you want to read it then go there ^

so...for starters, my article this week is about childhood obesity. i understand that this appeals mainly to parents and such, since it's their children and they are responsible and all, but this is one topic that really makes me angry. that is basically why i decided on the article. i enjoy writing about things that make me upset. childhood obesity is not exactly a "new' topic, as most of you are aware, but it is a problem that has been increasing rapidly over the past decade. everything that is in the article is basically common sense and things that we all probably already know, but it is still amazing to look at the reasons and the growth for and of childhood obesity. i am not trying to hurt anybody's feeling with this article. i just think that it is ridiculous the weight gain that is happening in this upcoming generation of children. i do not know how often anyone reading this gets out into the world, but there are some pretty hefty youngsters these days, and it is absolutely disguisting. i do not aprove of it one bit. yeah, take your kids to mcdonalds for a treat every now and then, whatever. but not every freaking day. for God's sake, people think that the only cheap food is fast food and that is not true. if everyone was a little less lazy, they would realize that you can buy plenty of healthier food for cheap. that should not matter anyway. would you rather pay a little more and have a healthy child, or pay a little less and have a child that has a billion health problems and needs to be ran to the emergency room every five seconds? i think the better choice is obvious.

that is all...

I agree that childhood obesity has become a major problem. And that it's the parents fault as much as it is the kids. I also think schools should do something about it-healthier meals/snacks, required PE classes, etc...
I'm not dissing anyone that's overweight, nor do I have a problem with overweight people. I myself could lose a few pounds and realize that genetics often has a lot to do with it. All I'm saying is, if you are one of those parents that does take your child to McDonald's everyday, you're definitely not helping, your part of the problem! So, if your child grows up to be obese and has multiple health problems, you have no one to blame but yourself! There, I'm done.

Is there a reason my funeral has been posted on Brandi's blog?

Oh and by the way: I'm all behind the chunkers in this world.

It's tragic. People need to stop pouring grease and lard down their kids' throats.

So Kinsey, I thought you had a bunch of comments about your blog. But in reality, it was a bunch of inquiries about arrangements for Ally. So sad.

I'm blaming parents and the food industry. Dollar menus and cheap food are very enticing to parents on the go. Parents are expected to work all day and then get their kids to every activity under the sun. Who has time to cook between all that multitasking? Why not just wheel through a drive-thru on the way to some dance class or sports practice? Because really, who's kid is gonna eat those apple slices you packed for the trip? Uh, no one's. But they might eat the apple dippers that Mcdonald's now offers in its kids' meals.
